Be inspired by different experiences and the passion that drives people forward. “Start Or Stop?” hopes to explore the innate motivations and forces that drive people’s lives. Could it be their beliefs that make them brave enough to walk alone? Could it be their faith that assures them that the skies will be clear again? Could it be their immense passion that grab and tug their heartstrings through the days and nights? Or could it be their bewildered burst of energy that provides the impetus to overcome the terrains of life? One day, the sky will tell you that all is fine.
Immerse in a brand-new experience with “Start or Stop?”, a new original full-length choreography by Artistic Director Dr Danny Tan and performed by Odyssey Dance Theatre. This is the third and final part of the trilogy, following “Rain or Shine?” and “Lost or Found?” that premiered in November 2018 and March 2019 respectively.
Join us at the ODT Gala Performance and enjoy a night of unique and poignant programme to celebrate and support ODT Ltd’s long-term artistic pursuits, audience development, and building more capacities to support the social and education sectors!

10TH BIENNIAL XPOSITION 'O' CONTEMPORARY DANCE FIESTA
Since 2001, the biennial Xposition ‘O’ Contemporary Dance Fiesta (XPO) has placed strong emphasis on professional dance-making and its impact on the local and regional dance scenes. With strong international presence, the public continues to see lots of synergy, participation, cultural exchanges and dance appreciation for the local and international contemporary dance in this iconic event in Asia and Europe.
With 9 editions spanning eighteen years, the festival has expanded its reach by presenting more than 40 international dance companies and 550 artists. The acclaimed works were presented at various diverse venues, from Black Box to major proscenium stages like the University Cultural Centre Hall, Victoria Theatre, and large scale outdoor events were made accessible to all. The broad range of global dances has helped to realign the understanding of Contemporary Dance in Singapore and Asia.
During the last 4 editions (2011, 2013, 2015 & 2017), XPO had gained new heights with ‘Global Dance in Unison' series being introduced. It had presented Singapore's very first Dance Festival on tour to Germany, Italy, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and Thailand. Partnering with numerous government agencies and eminent dance and arts institutions, such as the Singapore Embassy in Seoul, the Republic of Korea Embassy in Singapore, the National Arts Council, the Korea Arts Council, the Singapore International Foundation, the Dance Association of Korea, and many others, XPO's new festival direction had provided creative impetus for concise platforms to present Singaporean and international works to wider global audiences, which had led to enhanced deeper international collaboration, promoted sustainable and more cohesive cultural exchanges between artistes and people of different countries.
In this 10th edition, XPO celebrates “Cultural Diplomacy with the World” and continues to evolve with streamlined programmes to further heighten its relationship building with global dance community and audience. Between 27 October – 2 November, we are pleased to bring XPO on Tour to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, continuing our cohesive cultural exchanges between artistes and people of Asia.
Between 21 October - 7 November 2019, its celebration for the 10th edition will be delivered in two major tracks - Performance & Education. The Performance track embodies Global Dance Series, Global Dance Links Series and Global Collaboration Series which aims to stretch the audience's mind in appreciating profound works by established choreographers and companies to the current waves in contemporary dance presentations around the world. The Education track shares in-depth knowledge in contemporary dance approaches through Global Arts Seminar, Global Masterclass and Global Choreographic workshops, with new programmes such as Global Artists, Global Festival Managers, Global Dance Ambassadors and Global Festival Alliance.
